Discussion

[edit]
I'm in favor of creating a generic Hotel ID property like the following:
Hotel ID
Preferred rank <some Hyatt hotel ID>
brand (P1716) Hyatt Hotels Corporation (Q1425063)
0 references
add reference
Normal rank <some other brand hotel ID>
brand (P1716) another brand
0 references
add reference

add value
This might save creation of at least hundreds of properties for hotel brands. Is this permitted or has it been discussed before?--94rain talk 05:02, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Germartin1:, could you please response comments above, and add some more info for {{Property proposal}} Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 07:56, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There aren't hundreds of hotel brands, the whole idea of separate properties is constraints, formatter url, etc...
This is not possible when mixed together. Germartin1 (talk) 03:29, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There should be hundreds of hotel brands/chains (en:Category:Hotel chains by country), but, indeed, having separate properties will make constraint management easier. 94rain talk 08:53, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Germartin1: are willing to change the proposal as @94rain: proposed? Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 11:05, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please see my comment above, this is a famous hotel chain with 14k+ ids, no need to mix it with other properties. Germartin1 (talk) 00:28, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@94rain: pinging for attention. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 07:45, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No objections from me, since separate properties will make constraint management easier. 94rain talk 13:54, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
