De Districts for Ghana be de second-level administrative subdivisions for Ghana insyd, down be de level of region. Dem get 261 local metropolitan, municipal den district assemblies (anaa MMDA's).[1][2]

History

Dem re-organize districts of Ghana for 1988/1989 insyd so say e go decentralize de government den help develop de nation.[3] De change wey happen for de 1980s insyd divide de regions for Ghana insyd to 110 districts, so say de local district assemblies go deal plus de local admi. For 2006, dem comot some districts from de original 110 districts insyd wey dem pull 28 districts, de number come make 138. February 2008 insyd, dem create chaw districts den sana upgrade dem to municipal. E make de final number turn 170 districts for Ghana insyd.[4] From den times, dem sana add 46 districts for 28 June 2012 wey e make de districts all be 216.[5]

Types of Districts

Dem get three types: Ordinary Districts wey get people like seventy-five thousand (75,000), Municipal Districts wey get people lyk ninety-five thousand (95,000), den Metropolitan Districts wey get people like two hundred and fifty thousand(250,000).
