English: Flag of the province of Cagayan, Philippines. Adopted as the Provincial Flag of Cagayan by the Municipal Board in its Resolution No. 319, dated March 11, 1970. Colors on the background stripes and on the seal: Sky blue (the azure sky), which stands for justice, honor, and nobility of the people, their sincerity, and their traditionally peaceful ways; Gold (the bright sun) which symbolizes the wealth of the Province; and Green (verdant mountains and plains) which depicts the fertility of the soil; it also inspires hope among the people. The seal itself depicts the Cagayan River serving as a dividing line between the two congressional districts. The small islands represent the islands in the northern part of the province, and finally although ambigous, the plant facsimiles represent the main agricultural crops such as tobacco, rice, corn and peanuts, which are the major sources of income for the people.
