Pendent la Revolucion francesa, de 1789 a 1800, lo vilatge se #nomenar solament Colombe dels Bòsques.
Pendent la segonda mitat del sègle xx, lo vilatge se #nomenar solament Santa-Colombe e #reprene lo sieu nom d'origina en 2001.
Sainte-Colombe-des-Bois semble avoir pris le nom d'une jeune fille martyr du Modèl:IIIe siècle à Sens dans l'Yonne.
