Waterford (frae Auld Norse Veðrafjǫrðr, meanin 'ram (wether) fjord'; Erse: Port Láirge, meaning "Lárag's port")[2] is a ceety in Ireland. It is in the Sooth-East o Ireland an is pairt o the province o Munster. The ceety is situatit at the heid o Waterford Harbour. It is the auldest[3][4] an the fift maist populous ceety athin the Republic o Ireland. It is the aicht maist populous ceety on the island o Ireland. Waterford City and County Council is the local govrenment authority for the ceety. Waterford is kent for Waterford Crystal, a legacy o the ceety's umwhile gless makkin industry.
