Nancy Marchand (June 19, 1928, Buffalo, New York-June 18, 2000 near Connecticut) was an American actress who starred primarily on television. She represented the character Livia Soprano in The Sopranos and Margaret for the show Lou Grant. She passed away from lung cancer in Connecticut.
