Flickr is a photo sharing website and web services suite. It is also an online community platform, which is considered an early example of a Web 2.0 application.
Users can upload any photo to their website. The user will then be asked to release the photo under many licenses available. Some licenses allow other people to reuse it, which makes it possible for Wikimedia Commons to transfer photos from Flickr to their website.
Any person that has a Yahoo! ID can register their Flickr account in a few seconds.
