Haapavesi is a town in Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland. As of 28 February 2023, 6,588 people lived there. Neighbouring municipalities are Haapajärvi, Kärsämäki, Nivala, Oulainen, Raahe, Siikalatva and Ylivieska.

The name means "Aspen Water". It is known for the Haapavesi Folk Music Festival.
