Poole Hospital (also known as Poole General Hospital) is a general hospital in Poole, Dorset, England.

In 1897, the hospital was established inside a mansion in the town, known as Poole Mansion, which been built in 1749.[1] The hospital was named Cornelia Hospital and the new building cost £3,369 to construct and contained 14 beds.[1][2][3]

In the First World War, two areas were built with 65 beds for wounded soldiers. The hospital was damaged by German air-raids during the Second World War and the hospital buildings were rebuilt. In 1947, the Cornelia Hospital was renamed "Poole General Hospital" and after the establishment of the National Health Service in 1948, it became an NHS hospital.

In 1960, the buildings needed modernisation and contruction began on a new hospital. Most of the hospital was destroyed and changed with a 500-bed building with 1,150 staff which cost £5,000,000 to build.[4] In July 1969, The new hospital was opened in a ceremony where Queen Elizabeth II appeared.[5]
