The outcome of this request for deletion was to Delete. It is not in dispute that the death happened. The article (and keep votes), however, have failed to demonstrate that the victim had a large role within a well-documented historic event, nor has historic significance been shown. Auntof6 has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: This person seems to be known only in connection with the protests he participated in. WP:VICTIM says that such people should not normally have individual articles. Auntof6 (talk) 07:09, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.

- Hienadz Shutau (Belarusian: Генадзь Шутаў, Russian: Геннадий Шутов / Gennady Shutov) has got some coverage.[1][2] There have been another deaths during the 2020 Belarusian protests, but this is a glaring one, because he was killed by the so-called police in civil clothes at point blank in the back of the head on the biggest street in Brest. The video of MediaZona shows all the facts. No criminal case was opened on his killing as with Raman Bandarenka, because the authorities do not want to publicity recognize their crimes. On November 26, 2020, European Parliament discussed the situation in Belarus[3][4]. The discussion resulted in the adoption of a resolution "On the continuation of human rights violations in Belarus, in particular the murder of Raman Bandarenka," supported by an absolute majority of deputies, calling for a "prompt, thorough, impartial and independent investigation the the protest-related death of Gennady Shutov."[5] (https://web.archive.org/web/20201126174218/https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/RC-9-2020-0389_EN.html). There would be more coverage but the authorities hide info, don't open a criminal case, despite the autopsy showed he was killed by a bullet from behind, MediaZona's videos, more evidences. Brest people showed up to organize spontaneous memorials too (https://www.b-g.by/news/on-dumal-chto-est-spravedlivost-pogovorili-s-docheryu-gennadiya-shutova-ego-telo-rodnyim-ne-otdadut-do-ponedelnika/, https://www.b-g.by/news/osnovnaya-prichina-smerti-travmaticheskoe-vnutrimozgovoe-krovoizliyanie-telo-gennadiya-shutova-iz-bresta-otdali-rodnyim/, https://www.b-g.by/news/fotofakt-v-breste-poyavilsya-stihiynyiy-memorial-pamyati-gennadiya-shutova/, https://www.b-g.by/news/eshhe-odna-zhertva-protesta-v-voennom-gospitale-umer-muzhchina-iz-bresta-kotorogo-ranili-v-golovu/, https://www.b-g.by/news/v-zhabinke-proshhayutsya-s-gennadiem-shutovyim-kotoryiy-poluchil-ognestrelnoe-ranenie-v-golovu-vecherom-11-avgusta/, https://www.b-g.by/news/ya-tak-ponimayu-nam-prosto-ne-hotyat-otdavat-telo-rodnyie-zastrelennogo-gennadiya-shutova-ne-mogut-ego-pohoronit/, https://www.b-g.by/news/sk-podtverdil-chto-brestchanina-kotoryiy-umer-posle-raneniya-v-golovu-podstrelil-sotrudnik-milicii/, https://www.b-g.by/society/v-breste-zhiteli-22-avgusta-prodolzhayut-mirno-protestovat-v-centre-goroda-foto-obnovlyaetsya/, https://www.b-g.by/news/v-seti-poyavilos-video-kotoroe-podtverzhdaet-chto-do-gibeli-nikita-krivcov-uchastvoval-v-akcii-protesta/).
- P.S. This would not be an example to refer too, but the Rodolfo Illanes page is here. He was just a deputy minister (not a minister to establish notability by default) and died by beating. -- pr12402, 14 December 2020
- Note that this arzicle is up for deletion at EnWp as well (). Reading the German Wikipedia article, I get the impression, that he wanted to beat police with a metal pole or tube; and as they said, police only defended themselves. One police officer used his gun to shoot him in the sohulder, and "accidentally hit the head". Given that this is the second victim, which is only notable for being killed at the 2020 Belarus election protests (or whatever you call them), I honestly ask myself: Wouldn't it be better to collect them all on a Listing-type page? - Supposing you were police wouldn't you want to defend yourself against someone running towards you with a metal tube, or pole? --Eptalon (talk) 20:50, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
On August 11, Gennady Shutov was wounded in Brest. On August 12, the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported via the press secretary of the department Olga Chemodanova that "a group of aggressively minded citizens with fittings in their hands" attacked police officers in Brest. -“The warning shots upwards did not stop them. To protect the life and health of employees, weapons were used to kill. "
- Gennady Shutov died on August 19 at 10:20 am in a military hospital in Minsk. On the same day, the Investigative Committee said that on August 11 in Brest, two men attacked "persons performing tasks for the protection of public order" - beat them with metal pipes and "attempted to take possession of firearms." - “One of the [officers], perceiving the actions of the suspects as a real threat to life and health and preventing attempts to take possession of a service weapon, used a weapon against the attacker, firing in the direction of the shoulder. However, due to the continued active resistance of the man, he unintentionally wounded him in the head area.
- The certificate on the death of Shutov says that it was caused by a traumatic cerebral edema. In the column "external cause of death" the code Y22 is indicated - in the international classification of diseases it stands for "injury as a result of a shot from a handgun with undetermined intentions". On September 21, a video was published from a camera at the entrance of house 334 on Moskovskaya Street in Brest, under the windows of which on August 11, one of the “tihars” in civilian clothes (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/тихарь) shot Gennady Shutov in the back of the head. This recording confirms that the official version of the Investigative Committee that the biker and his friend, with metal pipes in their hands, attacked the police and tried to take away their weapons, is fake. In the hands of Shutov and his friend Kordyukov, there were no fittings or metal pipes, and there were no warning shots upward from the security forces either. They also did not attack the "tihars", but they themselves approached them. -- pr12402, 16 December 2020
- Another propaganda sheet, redact to minimum. This is not the way to handle the issue in an encyclopedia. Macdonald-ross (talk) 09:46, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

Keep, The personality caused a nationwide resonance. in addition, a lot of publications in reputable media (Deutsche Welle etc.) Vit Koz (talk) 10:05, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
- Being covered in a lot of sources does not contribute to whether the person meets WP:VICTIM. It has to be a well documented historical event with persistent coverage. --IWI (talk) 00:15, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
