Willard Herman Scott, Jr. (March 7, 1934 – September 4, 2021) was an American weather presenter, author, television personality, clown, comedian, radio personality and occasional actor. He was best known for creating and originally playing Ronald McDonald in the McDonald's commercials.[1] He was on The Today Show for many years. He retired in 2015.

Scott died on September 4, 2021, of natural causes in Delaplane, Virginia at the age of 87.[2]
