Area code 561 is a telephone area code in the state of Florida in the United States. It covers Palm Beach County, including the cities of West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, and Delray Beach. It was created in 1996 when it was split from area code 407. At first, it covered all of Palm Beach County, but in 2002, the northern part of Palm Beach County, including cities like Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens, was split off to form area code 772. 561 was overlaid by 728 on March 10, 2023.
