Benešov (German: Beneschau) is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It is the capital of the Benešov District.
It is about 40 kilometres (25 mi) southeast of Prague and has about 17,000 inhabitants. The town is known for the Konopiště Castle.
