The Ole Miss Rebels are the sports team for the University of Mississippi. They were first named the "Mississippi Flood". They were renamed the Rebels in 1936.[2]

The school's colors are cardinal red and navy blue. This is meant to be the same as the school colors of Harvard and Yale.

Ole Miss' major athletic rivals are with the Mississippi State Bulldogs (MSU), the LSU Tigers, and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
