Ismayil Huseynov

Ismayil Huseynov (born 1994) is an Azerbaijani CEH, radio electronics technician and fire safety expert, a co-founder and CEO of Cyberoon Enterprise.

Early life and education

Ismayil Huseynov was born in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Azerbaijan, into a family of an engineer. In 2011 at the age of 17 he moved to Kharkiv, Ukraine to study Fire Safety at National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine. During his student years, he developed strong environmentalist ideas and actively inspired other students to take care of nature and be environmentally conscious. What is more, as a foreign student Ismayil created his own blog where he shared his observations and experience of interaction with Ukrainian culture and mentality. He received his bachelor's degree with honors in 2015.

Military service and career

After graduation, Ismayil returned to Azerbaijan and fulfilled his military duty in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Separate Combined Arms Army, in Air Defense sub-division (from January till December 2016). At that period, he became avidly interested in radio communication systems. It was during his military service that the April War in Karabakh took place. After the end of the war, in June 2016, Azerbaijan's Armed Forces hold operational-tactical exercises in Nakhchivan, and Ismayil had the honor to take part in them. In December 2016 Ismayil completed his military service and a month later moved to Baku. There he spent a lot of time studying the principles of work of RTL-SDR radio receivers, HF/VHF/UHF radios and expanding his knowledge in cybersecurity. With time he became a radio amateur and cybersecurity expert. In 2018 he started his work at the Special Risk Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. His primary tasks included prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences. Apart from his main duties, he actively participated in various exhibitions and forums devoted to IT, UAV, radio communication systems, telecommunications, innovation and high tech, such as DELL Technologies Forum 2019, 3rd Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition 2018, Bakutel-2018, BakuBuild Azerbaijan 2018. Eventually, he was appointed as a radioman and after a year of working in his new position he was selected by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan for the transfer to the Army of Türkiye, a party to NATO, to improve his skills and knowledge in radio communication systems. This training lasted 9 months (September 2019 – April 2020), and after its completion Ismayil returned to Baku, Azerbaijan. His return was preceded by a COVID-19 outbreak, so he was appointed to the Special Unit within the Ministry of Emergency Situations to fight COVID-19. In September 2020 Ismayil quitted his job at the Special Risk Rescue Service and moved to Alanya, Türkiye to grow his cybersecurity company Cyberoon Enterprise, established in 2019 jointly with Anar Israfilov. He obtained an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Pilot Certificate in December 2021 in Türkiye. In March 2023 Ismayil received a EC-Council certificate in Ethical Hacking and earned a title of a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

Personal life

In 2021 Ismayil Huseynov married a linguist and translator Hiulshan Bairamova in Alanya.

Ismayil is keen on the history of Ancient Rome and Greece, and his interest is inspired by a numerous ancient cities and settlements that are located on the Mediterranean coast of Türkiye. He writes about it in his blog.
