Uploading images from Flickr

When you see a free image, please upload it by using either easily bryan's upload page or magnus' upload page. When you upload an image you haven't created, you must licence it as same as it has been licensed, as you can see here. You can also read the manual, but pay attention that the movie posters are copyrighted, so you'd better read Commons:Derivative works to make sure that there isn't any copyright violation. Petit conseil

Salut Stef (ou plutôt re-salut puisque je viens de te poster un message aussi sur WP!)
J'ai remarqué qu'il y avait pas mal d'images que tu uploadais sans aucune catégorie. Or ça ne donne aucune visibilité à tes photos donc peu d'espoir de les voir utilisées. Alors j'imagine bien que, si ton niveau d'anglais est bien mais pas top, c'est parfois dur de savoir où catégoriser! Mais je te rassure, malgré mon expérience australienne qui m'a permis d'avoir un niveau relativement correct en anglais, j'ai aussi des lacunes! Du coup, voilà comment je procède: je m'aide des interwiki sur WP et le Wiktionnaire pour trouver des traductions de termes que je voudrais mettre en cat et je vérifie ensuite si elles existent sur Commons. Et, si tu ne connais pas, il y a aussi un outil bien utile dans les préférences: onglet Gadgets->Hot Cat. Ca te fournit des cases en bas de page pour rajouter facilement des cat et l'avantage c'est que lorsque tu commences à écrire ça te propose des cat existantes! Sinon, quand tu n'arrives vraiment pas à trouver des cat précises, mets au moins une cat relativement vague (comme category:Film industry pour la catégorie-mère sur le cinéma) comme ça tes images sont au moins trouvables quelque part et il y aura beaucoup plus de chance que quelqu'un d'autre les trouve et précise la cat plus tard que si l'image n'est pas catégorisée du tout! Voilà, c'était le petit conseil du jour! En deux mots en français : comme un livre avait annoncé clairement en 1995 que le poster avait été dessiné par Mercier (donc avant 1931 + 70 = 2001), on ne peut plus dire que c'est une oeuvre anonyme, donc il faut utiliser la règle "1er janvier suivant le décès de l'auteur + 70 ans". Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

the Italian it:Template:Screenshot film is not equivalent to Template:PD-old! The author of the movie (or the last surviving author of many authors) is not dead for 70 years as written in Template:PD-old. The 20 years claim of it.wp isnt accepted on Commons, so this file ok on it.wp but it is not ok to move this file to Commons. I talk about it:File:Biondo deserto.png and it is written there: Do not move this file to Wikimedia Commons without adequate review! The criterias for review are written in Template:PD-Italy here on Commons, non of the criterias is fulfilled. --Martin H. (talk) 17:09, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
