About Me

Hi, I am Akintunde Daniel, a current student of the prestigious University of Ilorin. A larger part of my life has been lived in Lagos, the most populous city/state in Nigeria.

I go by the alias, TheAkintundeDaniel, which has served as my brand name for my graphic and product design career. I am also a front-end developer which adds more skill set to aid my product design Journey.

I also love volunteering which has led me to the Wikimedia body and has generated great joy and push for me to develop myself consistently into a superior version of myself.

My Wikimedia Journey

I joined the Wikimedia movement in the year 2022 through the Wikimedia Fanclub, Unilorin under the leadership of User:James Moore200. My Wikimedia Journey was further strengthened during Catalying Nigeria Project 1.0.

Through the years of volunteering for the movement, I have gone through a process of learning, relearning, and unlearning so as to best contribute to the Wikimedia movement. I have had to make contributions to campaigns supporting Human Right, bridging content gap in Nigeria,supporting gender equity through Art + Feminism and Feminism and Folklore and other campaigns.

I have had the privilege of co-facilitating campaigns which came as a breakthrough experience for me in 2023 through the "Women in Art and Technology" led by User:Favourdare123 and since then i have had the opportunity to lead 5+ Campaigns for my local community alongside experienced volunteers, editors.

General secretary, Wikimedia fan club, University of Ilorin. September 2023 - July 2024.

As the General Secretary of the Unilorin Wikimedia Fan Club, I have had the opportunity to lead and co-facilitate several projects for the community, working alongside the President and the entire executive team to achieve various project goals successfully. I have led and co-facilitated campaigns such as Wiki Loves Earth 2024, Feminism and Folklore Ilorin 2024, Wiki Loves Africa 2024, and Art + Feminism 2024 for the Unilorin Fan Club. Throughout my tenure, I received grants on behalf of the community from our local community, Wikimedia User Group Nigeria.

Starting in November 2024, I will oversee the Unilorin Fan Club community alongside the President and other executives. During the tenure, I will lead various campaigns to further promote the community and contribute to the Wikimedia movement.

Best Quote

My best quote comes from a book titled "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. In there he mentioned something notable about knowledge that resonated with my spirit immediately i came across those words.

“Knowledge is only potential power. It becomes power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action, and directed to a definite end.” - Napoleon Hill

From this, my understanding has been enlightened to see that Knowlede in itself is not power but only attains its peak when that knowledge is hedged with structures that help one utilize, practice what has been learnt.
