User talk:Better than Hustler
Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

File:Infrared_photo_of_sculpture_of_3_nude_women.jpeg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Your Flickr uploads
[edit]Hello Better than Hustler!
Thanks a lot for your contributions! Thank you for transferring images from Flickr to Commons! Two hints ahead:
- Always upload the highest resolution of a photograph that is available on flickr
- You can use this tool for your flickr uploads. It makes the hole procedure much easier and faster for you!
Thank you for your support! Greets, High Contrast (talk) 19:29, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
village pump
[edit]Hi there! I have just read some of your discussion on village pump. I was very sorry to read what Kaldari said. Please don't get put off by one comment! Anyhow, I guess I'm not quite sharing your interest but I find it great that you started the categorizing work. As there is endless work to do, I do hope that, while building up your own wiki, you will still help out here ;-) Amada44 (talk) 16:03, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Your own wiki
[edit]While the phrase "Before starting your own wiki, first see if others exist" can be a good thing to live by, I believe in this case starting your own wiki site might be the most appropriate solution. I do agree with those who've said that what you are wanting to do doesn't really mesh well with what we're doing here, though I completely agree that our existing nude categories are vastly over-populated. I read something today that seems very true...because so many people come here demanding that we remove *all* nude photographs, even ones with encyclopaedic or educational value, there does seem to be a knee-jerk "Keep" reaction when nudes are put up for deletion. Doesn't make it right, but I can see why it would happen. If you did start your own wiki, you'd have complete control over what comes and goes, which should be very appealing given your goals. Plus, there are lots of folks who would be happy to provide technical help with setting the wiki up, both here and at various other Mediawiki sites (probably meta.wikimedia.org would probably be a good place to start). Good luck to you! — Huntster (t @ c) 17:35, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
File:D'arcy_Wretzky_2.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Category discussion notification | Category:Infrared photographs of flags of the United States has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. |

Yout Work
[edit]Hi Better, Giorgio writing. I'm an sincere admirer of your incredible work of categorization. A piece of art. Who doesn't categorize cannot understand. Don't listen profanes and keep going. You have full support of one of the categorizators, at least. Actually, we should, in my opinion, have even an administrator for categorization issues only. It's an hard job, Commons is a messy garden, and us, we are the gardeners, keeping specimen together, interbreeding them and creating new species making the full garden bloom. Not just strolling around and picking here and there infesting plants as copyviol-watchers do (thanks God, anyway, another hard task). No categorization without representation. Go on, brother.--Giorgiomonteforti (talk) 19:07, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
