I detect a mix-up between two different meanings of the word gymnasium. I see pictures of gyms (places for physical educations) and gymnasiums (European high schools preparing for university) - what will it be? Luctor 20:24, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm wondering too... --X-Weinzar 20:23, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I didn't know the second meaning (high school...) of this word so I meant the first one whren I created the category. But I now realize why some pictures seemed weird to me! I actually checked in my English-French dictionary and there was only one translation (the one I thought about) for the word "gymnasium". So I just thought "well gymnasiums are weird in some countries, they look like schools"!!! Should we create two separate categories? How should we name them? --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 05:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if you want to collect Gyms in that category throw out the Gymnasiums and put a large disclaimer in the category stating what the category is supposed to be for and what it is not supposed to be for. I can see no sense in collecting pictures of schools of the type Gymnasium so why separate the category? Just delete those from the category. --X-Weinzar 12:20, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope it's OK now. Feel free to modify the warning. --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 13:45, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've just realized there was Category:Sport halls that could be a duplicate. --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 13:51, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The warning is alright now. I was looking for a potential duplicate category too since I couldn't imagine that nobody started some category like that yet but somehow I must have overlooked the Category:Sport halls. Well, looks like there is no need for Category:Gymnasiums, if you ask me... --X-Weinzar 17:59, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
