Per COM:FOP#Ethiopia: no evidence that the statue (unveiled in 1946) is in the public domain. Eleassar (t/p) 10:11, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone double check this? It seems weird that the Ethiopians put up these lovely statues all around but nobody's allowed to photo them. Wnt (talk) 03:35, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Delete Architecture, sculpture, and other creative works are copyrighted in every country. About half of all countries have exceptions which allow photography of works that are permanently located in public for commercial use. Unfortunately Ethiopia is not one of them. This does not require checking -- we delete tens of similar problem images every day. see COM:FOP..     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 20:05, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
