possible derivative of non-free content; unclear if the flag itself is actually freely licensed. May be closed as keep if someone can provide a citation proving that the flag is PD. FASTILY 07:05, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - These are all standard heraldry elements. The coat of the arms in the center was "derived" from the 1337 coat of arms of the Duke of Cornwall, using their colors on a Canadian pale. The Fleur-de-lis are another standard heraldry elements, a double double tressure flory. These are all elements of the blazon of the coat of arms, and can be reproduced per that. See Commons:Coats_of_arms#Public_domain_definition_(blazon).--Svgalbertian (talk) 04:34, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Keep I don't see anything in here that doesn't appear to be derived from other Commons elements. Fry1989 eh? 18:48, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: no valid reason for deletion. --Ellin Beltz (talk) 04:43, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is not the flag for the City of Cornwall. See this flag here instead. WildStar (talk) 19:46, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Requesting withdrawal for the deletion nomination. Per suggestion below by the file's creator Svgalbertian, updating the filename and the description of the file for better clarity seems like a reasonable alternative, and per the proposal put forward by Ikan Kekek, worthy of having a discussion. •  Keep In wide use. Discuss the issue on the file's talk page, and you can link the discussion from the talk pages of relevant Wikipedia articles. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:09, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep This is the official flag of the City of Cornwall. It was granted by the Canadian Heraldic Authority on June 21, 1995. See [1]. The flag is not flown at City Hall... presumably because it is too hideous to be seen in public. The older red red flag can be seen both outside City Hall and inside council chambers. •  Keep Both flags are valid, even if unused because it was granted by the Canadian Heraldic Authority it makes it official and notable. This being the less representative flag does not mean it should be deleted. The description could be updated to make the controversial status clear. The filename could also be updated for clarity, e.g. File:Flag of Cornwall, Ontario (granted).svg. There is no reason to delete this file. --Svgalbertian (talk) 21:59, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: Definitely in scope, given its wide use (including at en:Template:Country data Cornwall, Ontario, es:Cornwall (Ontario), wikidata:Q956690 and wikidata:Q5456722. Withdrawn by nominator; all other responses were keep votes; discussion continues at file’s talk page. Brianjd (talk) 15:55, 13 November 2022 (UTC) (non-admin closure)[reply]
