(From uploader) Firstly, I might add that I am anti-religious and do not give a piece of dust on this. I thought the Halal-pictogram might be interesting in general. That said, I think the deletion request is simply wrong, because it is based on the "general rule" of "No packagings". However, my pic shows only about a quarter of the package, and has no parts which have any originality etc. So at least one of the exceptions applies. If the pictogram itself is OK, and there really is a problem about the packaging (which I think may be de mimimis) that could probably be resolved by a Gaussian blur. Does anyone know the copyright status of the pictogram itself? - Jmabel ! talk 16:36, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmabel: If one looks on google for "Halal AND pictogram" there are a myriad of different signs like this, however not with the drawing of a mosque as on this one from the Korea Muslim association. The arabic writing in the middle simply means Halal, and I doubt that the few stylized towers are suitable to establish sth like "creative quality" necessary for copyright protection. BTW: What is the term used here on Commons for this? I mean, if something is so simple that it cannot claim a copyright status, what is the term for that phenomenon? In German, we say (translated) "lack of height of creativity". Pittigrilli (talk) 19:27, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Below the threshold of originality," and that threshold varies widely from one country to another. - Jmabel ! talk 19:32, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmabel: I think I will make a speedy deletion out of this one. I did not expect this to stir up a whole wasp swarm of problems... Better spend my time on plain vanilla secular uploads of stone-age minicomputers and the likes ;-) Pittigrilli (talk) 00:15, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Given that Pittigrilli as uploader doesn't see any point in trying to save this, I think we can just delete.
