Comment Photos must have some educational value for Commons. There are no differences significant enough between these two photos taken by same photographer at the same location in the same direction only 5 minutes apart to justify keeping both. Of course, it's not a big deal if it's not deleted but they are nearly the same photo. Warfieldian (talk) 00:38, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
- To justify keeping? Hmm, what about the justification of deletion? Diversity of photos is a good thing. You can select a picture that fits better for your specific purposes or the picture you like more (and not some guy on DR), you can extract structure from motion to get the third dimension of the scene, you can accurately remove annoying pedestrians from the photograph -- diversity gives additional information and additional opportunities. And it never was a problem neither for Commons, nor for professional stock photography sites like Getty that contain huge number of similar pictures. Trycatch (talk) 02:04, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

- If it's not obvious immediately, two similar pics were taken with different cameras with the same nominal focus length (in 35mm equivalent) and then framed to the same 3/2 aspect. NVO (talk) 02:42, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
