Rationale, discussion and results

[edit]

Less than four days after Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by -aristographic. resulted in deletion of all the nominated files, two of the files (File:Chittagong Skyline.jpg and File:Bangladesh Bank Building.jpg) were recreated by Rokib Hossaine as their first and only actions on any Wikimedia project. Less than six hours after File:Chittagong Skyline.jpg was deleted again, another newly registered user called Andy Gocher uploaded another version, this time grabbed from Flickr, where it is marked "© All Rights Reserved".

On a user page with structure and language errors strikingly similar to that of the main account, the freshly registered account purports to be the same person as the Flickr uploader: "Hello i'm Andy Gocher. I'm an professional Photographer, Check out my Flickr: [1]". The Flickr account is a pro account, but the real Andy Gocher is not "an professional Photographer" but a Field Service Manager at Goodrich Hoist and Winch, making the account here on Commons an obvious and deliberate impersonation attempt.

The Andy Gocher imposter sockpuppet was also used to add a description in Bengali to Rokib Hossaine's reupload of -aristographic.'s upload File:Bangladesh Bank Building.jpg, and like the main account, it is also used to blank out deletion tags from their own uploads.

Confirmed, all blocked. --Krd 11:39, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Was there a check for other related accounts? I see that you blocked LastBreath64 and -Whipla3h., which were obviously related, but there appears to be more:

There was, but it was also a good idea to recheck now. Penny$planted is also Confirmed, and Tselim Rezaa is Possible. --Krd 10:37, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Duckrender looks like a pretty obvious sock as well. LX (talk, contribs) 00:40, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And that sock is now license laundering. Ping Krd. LX (talk, contribs) 21:16, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Likely, blocked and nuked. --Krd 17:29, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And right on cue, Duskbean (talk contribs Luxo's SUL deleted contribs logs block user block log ) appears. LX (talk, contribs) 21:53, 30 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Confirmed --Krd 04:59, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
