Description
English: Portrait of Colonel Edward Frank Harrison, World War 1 chemist and inventor of gas mask. A hand written caption on the reverse reads:

"Colonel Harrison. Friend of the Tomalins*; in command of all gas defence in 1914-18 war; died from gas effects."

  • this image was given to the Tomalin family (founders of Jaeger)
It appears that the image in the some old press cuttings is from the same sitting, and I have a feeling that the memorial at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and their Harrison Memorial medal, are derived from this image.
