Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Eiberg. Das Gebiet der ehemaligen Gemeinde Eiberg erstreckt sich heute, nach der kommunalen Neuordnung von 1926 und späteren Eingemeindungen, über Randgebiete von Bochum und Essen: „Unter einem in drei Reihen zu je fünfzehn Feldern rot und silbern (weiß) geschachten Schildhaupt, und zwar oben links mit einem roten Feld beginnend; gespalten, farbenwechselnd in Blau und Silber (Weiß) über einem Dreiberg zwei aufrechte Eicheln.“ Das Wappen wurde von Kurt Schweder entworfen und hatte nie offiziellen Charakter. Ende der 1980er Jahre schuf der Heraldiker für alle Essener Stadtteile Wappen. Sie sind inzwischen von der Essener Bevölkerung gut angenommen worden. Das Wappen ist ein sogenanntes "redendes Wappen"; die Eicheln stehen für "Ei-" und der Dreiberg für "-berg". In Erinnerung an die lange Zugehörigkeit zur Grafschaft Mark wurde im Schildhaupt der märkische Schachbalken zu Schweders Version hinzugefügt.English: „Below a chequy chief gules and Argent of three; party per pale counterchanging and countercolouring azure and Argent, above a triple mountain two upright acorns.“
The arms were drawn by Kurt Schweder who designed coats of arms for all districts of Essen in die 1980s; they were never official used, but meanwhile recognized by the citizens of Essen and its districts. The arms are canting; the acorns stand for "Ei-" (German - derived from "Eichel") and the triple mountain for "-berg" (hill). The fess chequy is derived from the arms of the County of Mark and had been added to Schweders version. |
