He was honored with a public funeral, and buriedin St. Pauls, in the most magnificent manner, beside Nel-son. The Queen and all the noblest in the land werethere ; a million of persons witnessed the procession, whichwent from the Hoise Guards, by Apsley House, Piccadilly,and the Strand, to St. Paids, and not a head was covered,and few eyes dry, when the procession appeared in thestreets. Wellington was only once married. He left twosons, the eldest of whom succeeded to his titles and es-tates, the fruits of his transcendent abilities aud great pa-triotic services.

His par-ents having emigrated from Ireland to America, the futureLord Lyndhurst first saw the light at Boston, in theUnited States, on the twenty-first of May, 1772. He wasabout two years old when he was carried over to Englandby his fixther, and the education which he received in hisyouth was from a private tutor. At the usual age he wasentered a pensioner of Trinity College, Camlaridge, of whichhe was soon afterwards elected scholar. Li the Mathematrical Tripos of 1794 Mr. Copley took his degree of B. A.,as second wrangler and senior Smiths prizeman, dividiagthe highest honors of the University with the late Dr.Butler, head master of Harrow School and dean of Peter-borough. Soon afterwards he was elected a Fellow of hiscollege, and his additional appointment as a TravellingBachelor gave him an opportunit
