Ces militaires se préparent à remonter le poids au sommet du pylône. Ce poids pèse entre 545 et 635 Kg. Il tombe en étirant un palan à 3 brins. Ce palan à 3 brins divise également par 3 la force nécessaire à la remontée du poids. Sur certaines images, il n'y a que 6 hommes pour remonter le poids.
En grossissant l'image, on aperçoit le rouleau qui permettait à la traverse avant du Flyer de s'appuyer sur le rail.
En grossissant l'image, on aperçoit le support en forme de corne de vache qui prenait en charge l'essentiel du poids du Flyer et de ses passagers. Ce support roulait sur le rail grâce à des rouleaux.
En diagonale dans ce cadre, on peut observer la barre de traction (ou de remorquage) sur le crochet de laquelle aboutissait la boucle finale de la corde de remorquage. Ici, cette barre de traction repose à l'avant sur la traverse avant. Pour transmettre la traction de la corde de remorquage, cette barre est solidement articulée sur le bord d'attaque de l'aile inférieure du Flyer.
