English: These are Coastline Fortifications, or Pillboxes, which can be seen as you drive the coast road at various locations here in American Samoa. Over fifty (50) concrete pillboxes ring Tutuila, with larger examples inland. The largest of these structures is a Marine Corps communications bunker in Pago Pago village. |
