English: U.S. Sailors and Soldiers use the Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (JLOTS) system to move tons of supplies to the shore in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Feb. 8, 2010. The system uses a floating causeway to move cargo containers to the shore. The JLOTS system has been valuable during Operation Unified Response because the piers in Port-au-Prince have been damaged and cannot support large ships coming into port. This system will remain in place until the piers have been repaired. |
