Stema oraşului Techirghiol se compune dintr-un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, despicat.

În dreapta, în câmp roşu, este redat un personaj masculin ducând în mâna stângă căpăstrul unui măgar, privind trei sferturi spre stânga, iar în mâna dreaptă având un baston. Personajul este îmbrăcat cu o cămaşă cu nasturi, brâu şi şalvari, pe cap poartă fes şi este desculţ. În stânga, pe câmp albastru se află un soare heraldic, figurat, cu 8 raze mari şi 8 raze mici de aur, iar în vârful scutului are un brâu undat negru.

Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint, cu trei turnuri crenelate.

Semnificaţiile elementelor însumate

Personajul este Tekir. Acesta şi măgarul său fac aluzie la legenda lacului Techirghiol, care spune că un turc olog şi orb a fost condus spre lac de măgarul său rănit. Cei doi s-au vindecat miraculos imediat ce s-au scăldat în lac. Statuia lui Tekir şi cea a măgarului sunt amplasate în mijlocul localităţii Techirghiol.

Proprietăţile terapeutice ale lacului, dar şi culoarea acestuia sunt redate de brâul negru, soarele este viaţa, în timp ce albastrul este culoarea apei, a mării.

Coroana murală, cu trei turnuri crenelate, semnifică faptul că localitatea are rangul de oraş.
