English: Promulgated in September or October 1446, Hunminjeongeum was an entirely new and native writing system for Korean.
한국어: 훈민정음은 조선 세종이 1443년(세종 25) 음력 12월에 만들어 1446년(세종 28) 음력 9월에 공포한, 뒷날 한글로 불리게 된 한국어를 표기하는 문자 체계를 해설한 책이다.
