Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Thanks for your question, Charlesjsharp. I think that this image is a valued image as it is the only image in the scope in the specific time frame stated, midnight. I also consider the scope as broad as there are many images in the category (although all are in daytime) and is a famous landmark in the union territory of Puducherry. These images are also of a decent quality and geocoding is present too. It also is according to all of the other criterias for a Valued Image. Thus, this image should be considered for COM:VI Contributers2020^{Talk to me here!} 14:29, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

  I beg to differ, Charlesjsharp. Let us take upon the criterions that is for COM:VI

  1.) Is the most valuable illustration of its kind on Wikimedia Commons - it is, due to the fact that "the kind" of images is nighttime, and there are no images of this kind.

  2.) Is nominated as being the most valuable within a suitably generic scope - it is, as the scope is quite famous within the union territory of Puducherry (most probably the beach is famous with the whole of South India.

  3.) Must illustrate its subject well - it is, as the picture is of a decent quality for this type of a kind, and describes its subject clearly.

  4.) Is fully described on the image page. - image is sufficiently described on the image page.

  5.) Is geocoded, when relevant. - it is.

  6.) Is well categorized at an appropriate level - the category has 25 images, which seems to be reasonably sufficient.

•  Comment The VI guidelines state that In general, 'the VI for a building scope should be a daylight picture'. Surely the same should apply for a beach? Also, the guidelines state that 'a natural site should be of more than local interest to justify a scope'. Does this beach have more than local interest? Its geological features, characterized by rocky formations and boulders, attract the interest of geologists and researchers studying coastal formations. Furthermore, the beach serves as a prominent tourist destination, drawing visitors from far and wide with its scenic beauty and unique shoreline. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Rock Beach plays a crucial role in supporting diverse marine life, making it an ecologically important site. Additionally, the beach holds cultural significance, serving as a favored spot for leisure activities and gatherings, while also reflecting Puducherry's colonial history through landmarks like the French War Memorial. Overall, Rock Beach in Puducherry stands as a multifaceted natural site that combines geological, ecological, cultural, and historical significance. Now, going about the first question, there are instances where capturing beach images during other times of the day can also produce compelling and valuable photographs. Also, night-time beach photography can showcase unique features such as illuminated structures and many, many more and these alternative time-of-day shots can offer viewers a different perspectives. These conditions do not apply for a image of a building and thus, according to me, the specific guideline for a building image should not reflect upon an image of a beach.

  TL;DR - Rock Beach in Puducherry is not just a local attraction; it encompasses geological, ecological, cultural, and historical significance. Its rocky formations attract researchers, while tourists are drawn to its scenic beauty. The beach supports diverse marine life and reflects Puducherry's colonial past. However, regarding the guideline for beach images, alternative lighting conditions can also produce valuable photographs, unlike for buildings, suggesting that specific guidelines for buildings should not necessarily apply to beach images. @Contributor2020 Please be careful when reviewing images, I have nominated both of them for deletion given the fact that they are likely copyvios. I am really, really sorry Seawolf35. This is completely my fault. My inability to check other uploads of the user was as the request came from another fellow license reviewer, but it is complete failure on my part. A friendly reminder. Don't rush at all. The backlog is definitely huge. But you can pause for a while, go through and read all policies. Just focus on quality and not on quantity. Jameslwoodward, thank your for your advice. Even though I don't use the tool and it may help me in the future, the file linked was not nominated for deletion by me, rather it was marked as  Keep by me. I don't think so that the tool could be used for executing mass keep. Anyways still, thank you for the recommendation and will surely try it when I can. Apologies for picking off the wrong player -- you can do custom replacements with the tool, which would include a mass keep, but Admins use DelReqHandler which also has a mass keep or delete function. .     Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 18:54, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
