It looks like that page 109 and 110 in the book about his travel to hungary [1] name the mineral already alunite and this book is from 1822.

Thanks for drawing attention to this discrepancy/error. As a short term change to at least remove the probable dating error, I've changed the text to "this name was contracted by François Beudant three decades later to alunite". GeoWriter (talk) 19:26, 31 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
