Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Psychobilly. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Why does the first paragraph of this article contain full links to thefreedictionary.com and about.com? At first glance it looks like spam, and I've never seen references posted like this on a wiki article. Can these be changed just to be normal references by the definitions? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.218.69.218 (talk) 02:38, 6 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Downey as Reference

edit

Dear wikipedians, I'm trying to use some of the references from this article in another one. Downey seems to be a very central reference, but I can't find any reference to him/her(?) outside this article or talk page. Could someone kindly provide the full detail of this author, and the specific work cited? Where is his book/article found or purchased? Martin Thøgersen (talk) 07:45, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I found this:
- Ryan J. Downey's tag on Alternative Press.
- Alternative Press Issue #196 (Nov 2004). Front page "CHECK INTO HORROR HOTEL: AP'S GUIDE TO PSYCHOBILLY - CRAMPS, TIGER ARMY, NEKROMANTIX, METEORS, MORE". The site incorrectly states issue date "#196 - March 2010", the correct date is printed on the front page. It does not mention the internal article name ("All Psyched Up") or author (Downey) in this meta data. All ofthis combined makes it very hard to find this web reference based on the wiki reference.
Description:

(Page 76) PSYCHOBILLY FREAKOUT! Ever wonder what rockabilly would sound like with an adrenaline plunger in its heart? AP chats up members of Tiger Army, Nekromantix and the Cramps for an overview of the scene that’s welded punk’s fury to classic American music forms.

- Alternative Press Issue #196 (Nov 2004) - on Amazon (The metadata date is also incorrect here, "Jan 1 2004").

Hey IllaZilla, why does the article refer to "All Psyched Up", when the article title clearly was "Psychobilly Freakout"? Martin Thøgersen (talk) 13:29, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
