This page should be moved to Ratel 20. Thue 15:09, 22 May 2004 (UTC)Reply

Maybe it's time to move it back to Ratel? It seems to describe all variants now. Harald Hansen 08:32, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think we should move it to say Ratel IFV. That would cover all variants. Ratel links to the Southern African Honey Badger --Jcw69 17:30, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Since no objections, I have changed the article name from Ratel 20 to Ratel IFV --Jcw69 08:04, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, the move is correct. Next job is to use the standard template Template:AFV --Deon Steyn 11:35, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Done. Will other editors please check to see if I've copied everything across correctly. — Impi 13:10, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Looks good thanks. I think the one improvement we should make to the infobox is under "main armament", because this page now covers all, because the main gun for a Ratel 20 is a 20 mm, while it is a 90 mm gun for the Ratel 90 and anti-tank-guided missiles for other versions etc. We need a pic too... :-) --Deon Steyn 13:51, 21 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why on earth does this have two infoboxes? Octane [improve me] 28.11.07 0947 (UTC)

Combat history

edit

This article needs to include details of the Ratel's combat history. Specifically engagements with T-54/55 tanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.164.195.240 (talk) 06:41, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Variants

edit

There was a variant used by 2 Signals, kitted out with heaps of radio equipment. Was that the Command vehicle? Claidheamhmor (talk) 13:43, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Replacement of Variants section

edit

As is, the current "variants" section is populated entirely by a table with lineart images and a few laconic, uncited notes. The restrictions imposed by the confines of the table and size of the images mean less information is available to the readership (aside from these brief notes). Furthermore, the table does not provide for all the variants of the Ratel, namely production marks, which are separate from variants otherwise distinguished by their armament.

I'm going to propose this article scrap the table and the lineart and replace it with a variants section similar to that found on EE-11 Urutu. This variants section should also be condensed with the skeletal "derivative" section immediately below it, which consists almost solely of a iKlwa lineart image at this point. --Katangais (talk) 04:25, 18 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
