Nara Kasbergen (Japanese: 奈良 (/ˈnɑːrə/)), is a design student, typophile, web designer & developer, and penguin lover currently living in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born in Gouda, the Netherlands, and is very proud of her mixed Dutch, Indonesian and Chinese Indonesian heritage. Her interests include East Asian culture, electronica, type design, and Olympic speed skating.

Nara grew up in the Netherlands and moved to Munich, Germany in 1997. She then moved to Houston, TX in 1999. She speaks fluent Dutch and English, moderate German, and advanced Japanese. She studied abroad in Tokyo, Japan during the summer of 2008. Mandarin Chinese is at the top of her list of languages she wants to learn next.

Nara graduated as Klein Oak High School's valedictorian in May 2006. Additionally, she was a graduate of Klein Oak's inaugural class of the International Baccalaureate diploma programme. She currently attends Carnegie Mellon University and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Design in May 2010.

Nara's professional associations include the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
