Your use of rollback

Per WP:ROLLBACKUSE this use was inappropriate, please exercise more care in the future. 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:19F4:3AE2:C47C:384D (talk) 19:55, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

I can no longer read the diff as the page has been deleted, but I'm assuming you're the person who added the <noinclude>...</noinclude> tags? If so, I apologize, as I seem to have mistaken you for someone else — editing under a similar IPv6 address — who was violating their block. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a message, and I'll be more careful when reading IP addresses in the future! TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 00:23, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
I understand, sounds good, and yes that was the diff I was referring to. 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:E41E:B141:7B5:2EF0 (talk) 01:42, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

Beauty and the Beast (Mark Murphy album)

Hi@TechnoSquirrel69, I added a clarification to the article, as requested. The cited source assigns ratings with "bones" instead of "stars", from "woof to 5 bones". Thanks for the edits! CoralRad (talk) 00:24, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for doing that, CoralRad! By the way, I noticed a higher-quality version of the cover art for this album exists at its Amazon listing — consider uploading that one instead. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 00:28, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
@TechnoSquirrel69 I changed the cover per your suggestion. I am relatively new at this, should I remove the "clarification needed" from the article? CoralRad (talk) 00:38, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
Yep; in general, any editor can remove cleanup tags if they feel the issues in question have been adequately addressed. If you think so, go ahead! TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 00:42, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

WikiCup 2024 May newsletter

The second round of the 2024 WikiCup ended on 28 April. This round was particularly competitive: each of the 32 contestants who advanced to Round 3 scored at least 141 points. This is the highest number of points required to advance to Round 3 since 2014.

The following scorers in Round 2 all scored more than 500 points:

The full scores for Round 2 can be seen here. So far this year, competitors have gotten 18 featured articles, 22 featured lists, and 186 good articles, 76 in the news credits and at least 200 did you know credits. They have conducted 165 featured article reviews, as well as 399 good article reviews and peer reviews, and have added 21 articles to featured topics and good topics.

Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed during Round 3, which starts on 1 May at 00:00 (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.

If you would like to learn more about rules and scoring for the 2024 WikiCup, please see this page. Appreciating your comments

Hello @TechoSquirrel69 Senior editors have an eagle's eye that can capture such details as mentioned. As a junior editor, myself, I always take them heartedly and rework to address the issues. I believe that the content of the article is of public interest (the well being of Swahili language), so I shall try to keep on pushing it. Thanks. Dee Soulza (talk) 20:58, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

@Dee Soulza: Thanks for your message. While I admire your desire to uphold what I assume is your linguistic heritage by writing about the Swahili language, please remember not to let that translate into a biased writing style. As I mentioned in my review, we need to try our best to remain neutral on the subjects we're writing about — our goal is not to convince the reader of anything or highlight any one perspective. The encyclopedia simply summarizes the information provided in reliable sources without adding any interpretations. I wish you luck with writing your draft article. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 00:45, 31 May 2024 (UTC)

Thank you, didn't mean to edit an archive of a talk page. Probably could ask you for help. There is a good bit of misunderstanding on here about how to talk about family members with the same last names. It's generally established that you use first names to distinguish which person is being referenced. You can see FM Sky doesn't think so. Deliciously (talk) 02:56, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

@Deliciously: No problem! I'm not particularly interested in joining your original discussion, but I'm sure FMSky can weigh in now that the message is on the right page. Also, you don't need to post replies to my talk page when the original comment is on yours, you can simply ping me in the thread (like I'm doing here) and I'll be notified of your message; this helps keeps discussions organized and in the same place. Let me know if you have any questions. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 03:01, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

Dark Deco

Hello, may you reopen the discussion for Dark Deco, so I don't have to re-nominate it? Even with no comments, no quorum is not a "do nothing" close, and should have either been acted upon as I suggested (retargeted to a Batman related topic such as Batman: The Animated Series, one of the only relevant uses of this term on Wikipedia), or remained open to garner further comments, per WP:NOQUORUM (or Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Common outcomes#No quorum for RfD specific). I would prefer not to unilaterally retarget in the meantime as there are multiple options, but the status quo is not one and has no support. Utopes (talk / cont) 20:37, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

Hey Utopes! Thanks for reminding me about the silent consensus principle, which slipped my mind when I closed this discussion. I don't have time to do so at the moment, but I will overturn my closure and re-close the discussion later this evening or tomorrow. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 17:15, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

Hey there, and thanks for contributing to this article! My primary concern with your changes was that this person had announced their retirement relatively recently, so it's questionable to use a database to prove that they're still active as it might not have been updated. You will need to provide a reliable source dated after the retirement announcements to confirm that the subject is still playing. Let me know if you have any questions! TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 22:15, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
it is website of club founded this year, so way to implement correct data should be found. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.140.139.165 (talkcontribs) 00:14, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
That clarifies the date then, but I'm unsure I would consider that website a reliable source regardless. As I mentioned in my edit summary earlier, you might be better served by waiting for a response on the article's talk page and discussing the situation with an editor more knowledgeable about this general topic area — I'm certainly not the most prolific editor of articles on sportspeople. Also, do you operate the Cenderabird account? If you do, I would highly recommend logging in when you edit to prevent possible concerns of sockpuppetry. Let me know if I can help in any other way. How do I delete my draft?

Hey, I’m back, I hope you are doing well. I have a minor technical question: I accidentally created a normale draft instead of going through the article wizard like I wanted to. This may be a dumb question, but how do I delete it (on mobile)? FortunateSons (talk) 18:42, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Hello again, FortunateSons, and thanks for the well wishes — I'm hanging in there! I want to note that there's nothing wrong with creating a draft directly without using the Article Wizard, and it shouldn't impact your writing process very much. If you still want to, you can request deletion under CSD G7 by placing {{db-author}} at the top, provided you are the only editor who's made substantive contributions to the page. Let me know if you have any other questions. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 19:36, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
I’m glad you’re doing ok. Yeah, that was what I was looking for.
I’m know that there isn’t anything wrong with doing it directly, but I still prefer working with the added structure that the AW provides, particularly as this is only my second BLP.
Thank you very much for the help :) FortunateSons (talk) 19:47, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

I changed my article Draft:Sukesha to wikitext. I also added some citations. Would love for you to review it and share your thoughts to help me improve. Yatharthsrivastava (talk) 11:00, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Hey Yatharthsrivastava, thanks for making those changes. I don't typically conduct AfC reviews on request, and I'm also not familiar with the topic area of Indian mythology, so it might be better to leave it for another reviewer. Let me know if you have any other questions. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 15:45, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Wikipedia new page patrol backlog drives

A tag has been placed on Category:Wikipedia new page patrol backlog drives indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 19:25, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Exchange review?

Hi there. I've just noticed you nominated Mai Fujisawa. I happened to have recently nominated Musashi Miyamoto (Vagabond). It's a small article too so I wonder if you are interested in exchanging reviews if you don't have problem. I prose skills aren't pretty good so Musashi was copyedited before nominating it. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 21:53, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Hey Tintor2! Sure, I'd be happy to review your nomination. I can't do so immediately, as I have some off-wiki busywork to get to this week, but I should have more time to conduct the review towards the end of next week. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 22:05, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
@Tintor2: I've opened the review for your nominee. However, I've decided to retract my nomination of Mai Fujisawa due to issues I have with the sourcing which I don't believe can be solved in a way that gels well with the GA criteria to my satisfaction. Thanks for the update, Gerda; I also have an article planned for the drive but am finding it more difficult than I thought to track down reviews in obscure science fiction magazines! Draft reviewed

Hi TechnoSquirrel69,

I wanted to say thank you for taking the time and reviewing my draft about a scientist 2 days ago. I reached out to couple of people from wiki community to give me advice on what can be changed in order to improve the article and I made many amends since then based on the recommendations. Would you mind to please check the draft Draft:Mark Kotter again and let me know your thoughts? I'm still learning a lot about editing Wikipedia and I found this community is incredible and so helpful.

Best wishes,

Damjana Damjana12 (talk) 20:48, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Hey Damjana12, thanks for making those changes on the draft and I'm glad to know you're feeling comfortable in the community! I don't typically review AfC submissions on request, and almost never for drafts I've already reviewed in the past. In the interest of keeping the process impartial, I think it would be best to let another reviewer take this one; your draft is already in the queue and will be picked up in time. Let me know if you have any other questions! TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 01:45, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Thank you so much for your response and for understanding my situation. I appreciate the clarification on the review process and completely understand the need for impartiality. It's great to know that my draft is already in the queue and will be reviewed in due course.
I don't have any further questions at the moment, but I’ll be sure to reach out if something comes up. Thanks again for your guidance and support!
Best regards, Damjana Damjana12 (talk) 21:03, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Mass message sender granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "massmessage-sender" user right, allowing you to send messages to multiple users at once. A few important things to note:

  • Messages should only be sent to groups of users who are likely to be interested in the topic.
  • For regular mailings such as those for WikiProjects, localized events, or newsletters, users should be informed of how they can unsubscribe from future mailings.
  • The mass messaging tool should never be used for canvassing with the intention of influencing the outcome of discussions.
  • You can create a new MMS list of users by moving one from this page.
  • Consider sending a test message to yourself, to ensure that the message doesn't contain broken HTML that breaks talk pages.
  • Messages should be signed. Unsigned messages will not be archived by bots.
  • Messages should be signed before sending, so that they do not mass ping users who are linked in the message.

  Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:Buster7 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

In early February of 2024 TechnoSquirrel69 made a small repair to the Editor of the Week nomination page. Curious, I chased it down and discovered an editor that is a prime example of doing what it takes to retain new editors. He has almost 20000 edits with a solid 40% in mainspace. His outgoing nature and willingness to take the time to show new editors "the road less travelled", through his kindness and communication, deserve attention and recognition. His talk page archives contain interactions with new editors that are examples we can all learn from. Seconded by Sohom and Ixtal.
