The 1961 Northwestern State Demons football team represented Northwestern State as a member of the Gulf States Conference during the 1961 college football season. The Demons compiled a record of 7-3-0. Northwestern State played home games at Turpin Stadium in Natchitoches, Louisiana. During week 4 of the college football season they were tied for number 7th in the small college football poll with Hofstra.[1]
