Café World is a multiplayer restaurant simulation social network game created by Zynga. It launched in September 2009. Available on Facebook, players strive to become a master chef and build a food empire by completing catering orders.

In celebration of the one-year anniversary, players were challenged to complete a “One Year Anniversary Party” order with five new cookbook recipes. Players who successfully completed the order were entered for a chance to win a trip for two to New York City.[1]

Following the Japan Earthquake in March 2011, Zynga re-released several Japanese-themed decorations to Café World in order to benefit Japan's Save the Children Earthquake Emergency Fund.[2]

To celebrate the two-year anniversary, players were challenged to complete a goal series to prepare a feast for British Royals. Players who successfully completed the goal series were entered for a chance to win a trip to Britain.[3]

The game garners approximately 2.6 million monthly active users.[4] It is a freemium game, meaning there is no cost to play, but players have the option of purchasing premium content.

Even though the game has no 'actual' cost to play, Zynga refuses to respond to many active users requests to 'enable' the neighbor features, which allow you to advance game play. Actual game play can only be advanced with game play and with the purchase of Cafe World Cash, failure to purchase advancements limits overall game play.
