Eves are fictional characters who appear in The X-Files first season episode "Eve".

Characters' appearance

Eight identical girls named Eve and eight identical boys - Adams were created as a result of a highly classified eugenics experiment, sponsored by the U.S. government in the 1950s. Genetically engineered children were raised in controlled environment in a town Litchfield, California (this is where the name Litchfield Project come from).

Since they were identical, each of them was assigned number. The children are so special because they have 56 chromosomes which allows them to develop superhuman attributes like supernatural strength, intelligence. But they unfortunately suffer also from extreme psychosis which developed around age of 16 and 20. Many of them commit suicide. Only three Eves lived up to the 1990s.

Eve 6

She's been imprisoned in Cellblock Z of the Whiting Institute since 1983. Agents Scully and Mulder learn from her that all the Adams are dead and that there are two other Eves apart from her who survived.

Eve 7

Her name is Dr Sally Kendrick. She was raised by a man who was involved in the project and knew how to treat her. Thanks to this, she became like normal people. She was first in her class at the Yale Medical School. Soon, she became a biogenetics specialist at the Luther Stapes Center. She was fired after being suspected of tampering with genetic material. She actually implanted her own clones in fertility patients - Claudia & Joel Simmons and Ellen & Doug Reardon, in 1984. That's how Teena Simmons and Cindy Reardon came to be. Kendrick disappeared for years after being dismissed. She appears again in 1993 to kidnap Teena and Cindy, to raise them the way she was. Unfortunatelly, the girls murder her with a lethal dose of digitalis in a cup of soda.

Eve 8

She escaped from the Whiting Institute in 1985. She's probably a doctor with high military security and visits Teena Simmons and Cindy Reardon in the Institute after them having been incarcerated there. According to the The X-Files Confidential compendium, her name is Alicia Hughes.

Eve 9 & 10

Teena Simmons (Eve 9, probably) was born in 1985 to Claudia and Joel Simmons, as a result of their infertility treatment in the Luther Stapes Center. The family moved later to Greenwich, Connecticut. Her mother died of ovarian cancer around 1991. She has strong psychic abilities and somehow has a connection with Cindy Reardon from California whom she never met before. At the age of 8, she murders her father and is kidnapped by Dr Sally Kendrick AKA Eve7.

Cindy Reardon (Eve 10, probably), born in 1985 is another clone of Sally Kendrick. Her parents are Ellen and Doug Reardon and she was conceived through in vitro fertilization. After murdering her father, she spent some time in Sacramento, California with her mother and further family. She certeinly isn't a typical child - she prefers watching some political debates instead of cartoons. She is also kidnapped by Kendrick.

When together, in Point Reyes, California, the girls murder Sally Kendrick. After having been found by Mulder and Scully, they say that it was another Eve that did it and that she tried to kill them as well. At first, the agents believe them but when on the way home they try to kill them, they find out the truth. Teena and Cindy are taken into custody and incancered in the Withing Institute, together with Eve 6. They have a visitor soon - Eve 8.

After learning the truth, Ellen Reardon tells Mulder and Scully that Cindy isn't and never was her daughter.
