Florentine Stanislaus Bechtel SJ (Haguenau, Alsace, 4 February, 1857 - ) was a German born American biblical scholar.[1] He was Professor of Hebrew and Sacred Scripture at St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri, and a contributor to the Catholic Encyclopedia articles including: Pillar of Cloud; Plagues of Egypt, Machabees, etc.
