Aunt Arctic is the news reporter for the well known newspaper in Club Penguin, The Penguin Times. She is responsible for keeping all penguins around the island to be informed about the daily news. She is such a skillful writer that she even has her own column, where she makes it her duty to answer any troubling questions her fellow citizens might have. The Penguin Times is 'The Free Club Penguin Newpaper', delivered every Thursday. In its 1st year, it managed to make an incredible 53 issues, and hope to make many more in its second year and the upcoming future. In the newspaper, which is situated in the top-left hand corner of the screen, penguins have a chance to read about the top stories that have happened recently or will happen soon. Sometimes (like the 'Save The Lighthouse' fundraiser or the 'Decorate the Christmas Tree' mission), penguins have the chance to take part in helping the community in order to get an item of clothing or a pin. Sometimes penguins also get to have a poll, such as the 'Colour Choices' poll, letting penguins choose if they wanted the newly invented Lime Green, or the Lavender. (Limegreen being chosen in the end) There is also a section which is dedicated to all those penguins who want to either submit jokes, riddles, poems, comics or to ask Aunt Arctic a question. Usually at the back of the issue, Aunt Arctic keeps a weekly schedule (named 'Upcoming Events') of what is, and will be happening in her favourite island. Also, the latest eight issues are there for the viewing in the boiler room (although former polls and fundraisers are expired).

Aunt Arctic is also featured in the first of the Secret Agent 'Secret Missions', where penguins have the chance to leave the island and travel into a virtual adventure. If they succeed, they receive a letter from one of the main characters featured in that mission and a medal. If they complete the mission but don't fulfill all of the necessary requirements, then they are only rewarded with the medal.
The first of these missions is called: the Case of the Missing Puffles in which Aunt Arctic has lost her two puffles, one green and one purple (purple puffles had just been introduced to Club Penguin) and the player must go out in serch for them.
