Blibli, the trading name of PT Global Digital Niaga, is an Indonesian e-commerce company. It is a subsidiary of Djarum Group, and as one of the country's top 5 online marketplaces.[1][2] Blibli.com is the first product of PT Global Digital Niaga, which is a subsidiary of Djarum in the digital field, which was founded in 2010. Blibli is an Indonesian e-commerce company that focuses on building a shopping ecosystem of consumer and institutional choice through an omnichannel trading platform that is safe for everyone trusted lifestyle.[3]

Since its establishment in 2011, Blibli presents curated products through collaboration with reliable sellers and partnerships with well-known brands. Currently, Blibli presents 20 product categories with tens of millions of quality product choices from hundreds of thousands of partners. Blibli is also an e-commerce platform with the most complete payment and delivery options in Indonesia, and is known as a free shipping service provider and original product guarantee. Blibli runs a business with a business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), and business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) model that is integrated online and offline or omnichannel. Throughout its journey, Blibli has made a number of important acquisitions to support its business model, increase its service portfolio, and strengthen its business in a sustainable manner. [4]

In 2017, Blibli acquired tiket.com to encourage its expansion in the travel sector, including booking transportation and accommodation. In 2021, Blibli will acquire PT Supra Boga Lestari Tbk, a company that manages a number of supermarkets such as Ranch Market and Farmers Market, to strengthen its omnichannel strategy. [5]

Blibli cooperates with technology service providers, logistics partners, banking and trading partners with certain standards to create a back-end system that is expected to meet user needs. Blibli's head office is headquartered in West Jakarta with infrastructure costs such as servers and networks reaching nearly Rp 100 billion. [6]

History

Supported by GDP Venture, a funding company and digital industry ecosystem developer under PT Djarum, Kusumo Martanto, Martin Hartono, and several other founders founded Blibli in 2011.

Present to answer the opportunities for the development of the retail industry through the implementation of technology, the founders are motivated to present solutions to logistical challenges that are an issue for business actors in reaching a wider market. This spirit has directed Blibli to support the country's economy in a sustainable manner.

Since the beginning, Blibli has carried out the managed marketplace method through a curation system in such a way as to provide quality products and services from trusted sellers. To that end, Blibli cooperates with brand owners, authorized distributors, and trusted business owners, including MSME players, to become sales partners on the company's platform.

The name Blibli is short for “beli-beli”. The name was chosen because it is easy to remember and easy to type in search engines.

Blibli's Contribution to the Indonesian Business Sector

Certification

ISO/IEC 27001:2013

Blibli is the first Indonesian e-commerce to receive the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 information security system management standardization certificate.

In obtaining the certificate, Blibli has implemented various data security strategies, including building a technology architecture and optimizing application programming interfaces (APIs), to ensure Blibli's resilience in protecting company data and customer information.

The ISMS implementation has been tested by the Information Security Index (KAMI) program with the highest score and received an award from BSSN.

GDP Ventures Investment

Kusumo Martanto, The President Director of Blibli is also aggressively expanding. He said that since August 2011 he has spent an investment of up to Rp 50 billion. The investment is used for the development of the site's design and services. "That is creating a category for new goods or products," he said.[19]
