Blibli (PT Global Digital Niaga) is a leading Indonesian e-commerce company that focuses on building the omnichannel commerce ecosystem of choice for consumers and institutions through trust and assurance.

Since its establishment in 2011, Blibli has delivered curated products through collaboration alongside reliable sellers and partnerships with well-known brands. Currently, Blibli presents 20 product categories with tens of millions of high-quality products from hundreds of thousands of partners. Blibli has the widest array of payment methods and delivery options in Indonesia. Blibli is further known for its free shipping, customer service, best-in industry return policy and original product guarantee.[1][2]

Blibli integrates omnichannel business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), and business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C). Blibli has made several significant acquisitions throughout its journey to support its business model, increase its service portfolio, and sustainably strengthen its business.

In 2017, Blibli acquired tiket.com to encourage expansion in the travel sector, including transportation and accommodation booking services.

In 2021, Blibli acquired PT Supra Boga Lestari Tbk, a company that manages premium supermarkets such as Ranch Market (the market leader in fresh) and Farmers Market, to strengthen its omnichannel strategy.

History

Blibli was founded in 2011 by Kusumo Martanto, Martin Hartono, and several others with the support of GDP Venture, a venture capital fund under PT Djarum.

Given the challenge of developing the retail industry with technology, the founders were motivated to present solutions to the logistical difficulties that prevented businesses (especially MSMEs) from reaching a broader market. This enthusiasm made Blibli direct its support for the country's economy in a sustainable manner.

Since the very beginning, Blibli has adopted the managed marketplace method through a system based curation, to provide quality products and services from trusted sellers. Blibli cooperates with brand owners and principals, authorized distributors, and trusted (verified) business owners, including micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) players, to become sales partners on the company's platform.

Blibli itself is an abbreviation of the Indonesian word 'beli-beli’ (in Bahasa Indonesia means 'buy'). Founders chose the name as it is easy to remember and type in search engines.

Blibli collaborates with trusted partners to provide multiple payment options in the Indonesian e-commerce industry. Including Blipay, Blibli Paylater, blu, transfers via virtual accounts, OneKlik, credit/debit cards, cash on delivery (COD), installments without credit cards, pay at outlets, internet banking, and electronic money. Certifications

ISO/IEC 27001:2013

Blibli is the first Indonesian e-commerce company to obtain the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 information security system management standardization certificate.

  • Blibli implemented various data security strategies to obtain this standard, including building a technology architecture and optimizing application programming interfaces (APIs) to build up Blibli's resilience in protecting company data and customer information.
  • The ISMS implementation obtained the highest score in the Information Security Index (Keamanan Informasi - KAMI) program and received an award from the Indonesian National Cyber and Crypto Agency (Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara - BSSN).
