Brian Baenig was Secretary of Agriculture's Chief of Staff[1] (2013-2015). Prior to that, Baenig was Assistant Secretary for Congressional Relations at USDA (2011-2013). He had also previously served as Deputy Undersecretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs (2009-2011), Deputy Staff Director on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, Senior Policy Advisor to Senator Leahy, and Legislative Assistant for Senator Paul Wellstone.

After resigning as Secretary of Agriculture's Chief of Staff, Baenig left the USDA to join the Biotechnology Industry Organization as executive vice president for BIO’s Food and Agriculture Section[2].
