Buckswood School is an independent school for boys and girls that was founded in 1933.

Originally the school was situated in Uckfield but has recently been re-located to the village of Guestling between the towns of Ashford and Hastings in East Sussex.

Overview

Buckswood School currently boards about half of the school of 340, while the other half are enrolled as day pupils. Schooling starts from the age of 10, unlike most secondary schools that start at the age of 11; and finishes at the age of 16. There is also a college (sixth form) that further educates 16-18 year olds, however this is not a mandatory part of their education service. Approximately 45% of all students are from over-seas with the student body representing over 36 contries, including: Germany, Russia, U.S.A., Argentina, Nigeria, South Africa, China, Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan with British students forming the other 55%. Fees are roughly 9,000 pounds sterling per annum for day pupils and 18,000 pounds sterling per annum for boarders. Bursaries and scholarships are available to provide between a 10% and 30% discount.
