Jamesville-Dewitt High School

Jamesville-Dewitt High School (often abbreviated as J-D) is a New York public high school on Edinger Drive in the Town of Dewitt, serving high school students (grades 9-12) in the Jamesville-Dewitt Central School District. The principal is Mr. Paul Gasparini. Famous alumns include Phish drummer Jon Fishman (Class of '83). Other notable alumns include former NBA player Danny Schayes (Class of '77). Current Syracuse University Orange player Andy Rautins also graduated from J-D in 2005. The school mascot is the Red Ram and the school colors are scarlet and white.

Their athletic programs have enjoyed much success. They have won the Onondaga High School League (OHSL) All-Sports trophy for best overall combined team records for the past seven years. They have had New York State (NYS) champions in swimming and three of their teams made the NYS final four in their respective sports. Most impressive, 23 of their 26 teams won Scholar Athlete Team awards. Their varsity boys basketball program has won four of the last five OHSL Section III championships. They won the state and federation championships in 2004 with a record of 29-0. They are coached by Bob McKenney. The athletic director is William Brown. Brown also coached the football team to the Section III title and state semifinals in 1997 before retiring in 2001. The current head varsity football coach is Dennis Schahczenski.

The school recently opened a multi-million dollar expansion that serves as the home of many indoor athletic teams (below).
