Kim Zolciak

Kimberleigh Marie "Kim" Zolciak (born May 19, 1978 in Simsbury, Connecticut) is an American recording artist, socialite, and television personality known primarily for her participation on the Bravo series The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Career

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Starting on October 7, 2008, Zolciak has been seen on the reality television series The Real Housewives of Atlanta, airing on Bravo. Originally, the show was to only include five African American women, but after the producers met Zolciak they were so impressed they gave her a spot on the show. It has been one of Bravo's most successful television programs, and has the highest rating out of the series of shows. The show has become a key factor in Zolciak promoting her upcoming album and singles.

Music

Zolciak started out on the show working on her debut country music album. In 2009, however, Zolciak released her debut single, "Tardy for the Party". She has promoted the single by going on a small club tour, as well as making her live television debut of the song on The Wendy Williams Show and also performing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She also performed the song at the White Party 2010, a Palm Springs Circuit Party, alongside artists such as Kesha. The song managed to peak at number 80 on the iTunes Top 200, and at number 3 on the iTunes dance chart.[citation needed]) A music video for the song was said to be in production but so far nothing has shown up. Zolciak has confirmed the album's 2010 release date, and says it will be a dance album, similar to its lead single. In 2010, a remix EP was released by Zolciak, featuring remixes of "Tardy for the Party". All of the remixes were produced by DJ Tracy Young.

Personal life

From the debut episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim and other castmates have repeatedly referred to Zolciak's married beau, referred to as "Big Papa", and his financial support of Kim. For example, Kim's opening montage at the start of each show addresses the popular view of Kim and "Papa"'s arrangement: "People say I'm a golddigger but they just want what I have." Additionally, in season 1, episode 4 "Bring on the Bling" (October 28, 2008), Kim used Big Papa's credit card to purchase an expensive diamond bracelet at DeShawn Snow's charity event and thanked him by phone onscreen. In season 2, episode 10 “Better Tardy Than Never” (Oct. 1, 2009), Kim showed up at her birthday party with a giant engagement ring on her finger, claiming that Big Papa had proposed. Sheree's reaction was skepticism about how one could become engaged to a man who was already married to someone else.[1] In Season 3, episode 5 "Hot Mama's Day" (November 1, 2010), Kim and Kandi exchange their views on cheating, when Kim guests on Kandi's web chat show Kandi Koated Nights.

On November 22, 2010 Zolciak confirmed that she was pregnant.[2] The father is Atlanta Falcons pro football player Kroy Biermann.[3] Zolciak was shown meeting Biermann at a charity event on an episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
