Kagarol is a village in the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh state in India. It is situated at a distance of about 25 kilometers to the south-west of Agra city.[1] This village finds mention in some of the earliest Archaeological Survey of India reports compiled by Alexander Cunningham and his assistants, J. D. Beglar and A. C. L. Carlleyle.[2]
" Khangar Ror " or " Kaga Ror " or " Kagaroll " is situated about eighteen miles from Agra . It is a very ancient place and the prdent village standa on an ancient tila composed of the debris of an ancient fort . There are remains of a very strong and thick wall which runs through below the western part of the village kagaroll . This wall is composed of huge blocks of red sandstone . According to the inhabitants of the place , the ancient fort buried under this place was actually founded by " Raja Ror " . There is a tradition preserved in the neighbourhood about a " white crow " , in the consequence of the appearance of which , as an omen of augury , Raja Ror built a fort here . [3]
